Tia Photography has been capturing life in the moment for over 15 years in Ottawa and the surrounding area!

Self-taught, film photographer from the age of 17 years old. Portraits have always been my passion. 

I work in any environment, in my home studio in Kanata, in the comfort of your own home or outdoors in our beautiful community. To make the experience as fun, comfortable and as easy as possible for you.

As a graduate of the Algonquin College Photography Program in 2009, it has provided me with the knowledge and skill of lighting in studio and I have had the absolute privilege to work with and learn from Michelle Varberg as a student, and Paul Corvette as a studio assistant. I was awarded the James Zigon Best in Show First Year - Black and White Portrait and the following year,  the Michelle Varberg Bursary for Achievement and Community Involvement.

My background experience is also in street outreach/front line in social services, early childhood education, volunteer medical first responder, administration and photography. I have certifications in naloxone administration, non violent crisis intervention, applied suicide skills intervention training.

I am the Chair of the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at our local hospital: patient representative on the Emergency Department Unit Leadership and Mental Health Advisory. I am an active mental health advocate.

I am also a proud NILMDTS certified Volunteer Affiliate Photographer for over 13 years now. We are a small Team of Volunteers in Ottawa that are on-call to respond to the sudden loss of a baby and take remembrance portraits at the Hospital for the family.  If you are not familiar with this incredible organization please visit: http://nowilaymedowntosleep.org

I have two beautiful daughters, Emma and Ella and an adorable chihuahua named Cookie.

They are full of magic, light and energy.
